Zamora Named New Hebron Valley Elementary Principal

Lewisville ISD announces appointment of Laura Zamora as the new principal of Hebron Valley Elementary.

Lewisville ISD (LISD) announced July 9 the appointment of Laura Zamora as the new principal of Hebron Valley Elementary.
Laura Zamora named new principal of Hebron Valley Elementary.
“I’m honored for the opportunity to serve as principal of Hebron Valley Elementary,” Zamora said. “Hebron Valley holds a special place in my heart, and I am thrilled to embark on this exciting journey with our wonderful students, staff and families.”

Zamora is a familiar face for the Huskies. Before serving as an assistant principal at Mill Street Elementary this past school year, Zamora spent seven years at Hebron Valley, first as a Language Acquisition Specialist and then as assistant principal. She takes over for Dr. Tina Krol who was recently named the new principal of Killian Middle School.

Zamora began her career in public education in Austin ISD in 1999 as a first- and third-grade teacher at Highland Park Elementary. She then taught second grade at Timberline Elementary in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD for three years before joining the LISD family in 2004. Prior to becoming a part of the Husky community in 2012, Zamora spent eight years at Rockbrook and Donald elementaries.

“Ms. Zamora is an excellent fit for Hebron Valley,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kevin Rogers said. “She is a tremendous educator and knows the community well. I am confident Hebron Valley will be in great hands with her as principal.”

Career highlights for Zamora include mentoring more than 17 new LISD assistant principals from 2017-2019 and being awarded the Hebron Valley PTA’s Lifetime Member honor in 2017. In addition, Zamora was named the district’s 2019 Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year.

Zamora is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and received her Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development. She also earned a Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas. Her certifications include Principal (EC-12), ESL Generalist (PK-6) and Bilingual/ESL Spanish (EC-8).

Zamora resides in Carrollton with her family, and is the proud mother of two LISD students.
