Flower Mound Chamber Awards | November 2020

Forest Vista Student, Teachers and School recognized by the Flower Mound Chamber.

November Student of the Month
Forest Vista Elementary Fifth-Grader Gracie Shaw was recognized as the Flower Mound Chamber/Independent Financial Student of the Month. Gracie was recognized for always having a positive “can-do” attitude, and her classmates can always look to her for an example of the right thing to do. Gracie’s kindness is evident in the way she communicates with both her teachers and her peers. She is a cheerleader for all of her classmates especially those who struggle or have unique challenges. Her applause, silent cheers, and shout-outs of praise are always authentic and warm. She is a strong student, but never one to boast about her accomplishments. Gracie is humble and puts others before herself. She is also confident and strong. She makes the best out of every situation, and she brings the best out of the people who surround her. Gracie definitely deserves this recognition because she stands out as a leader amongst her peers and is a bright, shining star at Forest Vista!

November Teacher of the Month
The Forest Vista Elementary Virtual Pre-Kindergarten team members Devon Orsini, Brittany Harris, Carolina Gamonal and Daniella Oseguera were recognized as the Flower Mound Chamber/Huffines Teachers of the Month. This team of four keeps more than 45 Pre-K students from three different campuses engaged in virtual earning. They provide additional support for students and families that need or would benefit from small group instruction. These teachers keep in constant communication with the parents, recognizing they are an integral part of the success of their virtual students. Teachers provide a full-learning plan for families each week with a schedule of live lessons and supplemental activities. This team plans together to ensure there is consistency among the groups each teacher works with and students are making progress – even if they are currently meeting the expectation for learning at the time. Their students enjoy live lessons and activities that extend their learning. This group of hard-working teachers is doing an exceptional job serving these students from across the district through their computer screens, making learning at home fun for students.
