Elementary Virtual Learning Family Update

Family update for elementary students on the virtual learning pathway.

The start of the 2020-21 school year is almost here, and we are excited about the first day of school on Aug. 19!

Our records indicate you selected the Virtual Learning Pathway for your elementary student. If this is not what you intended, please contact your campus immediately to verify the selection on your commitment form, which closed on Aug. 5. If you have students enrolled in the virtual middle school or high school pathway, you will receive additional information very soon!

Please remember, the commitment to a learning pathway is a 9-week grading period, and can only be changed at the end of a grading period.

We would like to take the opportunity to share with you important information regarding the start of school specifically for the virtual pathway. In the virtual pathway, students learn from home and access their courses through the Edgenuity learning management system, while interacting virtually with their teacher.

Your virtual teacher will soon be sending you a special link to connect with you via a virtual “Meet the Teacher” and initial orientation through WebEx so that you can feel confident in what to expect. Elementary virtual learning orientation information can be found on our website. You will have multiple opportunities to engage with your child’s teacher over the first 2 weeks in order to support your student as their “Learning Coach” from your home setting. You are not expected to be an expert by the first day of school!

If your student needs a district device to complete their assignments, please login to your Skyward Family Access account to complete your back-to-school forms, where you will find the opportunity to request a device and select a pick-up day/time. For more information, visit
