Creekside Elementary’s Formichella Named Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce/Huffines Auto Dealership November Teacher of the Month

Formichella is third honoree of 2019-2020 school year.

Patricia Formichella of Creekside Elementary has been selected as the Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce/Huffines Auto Dealership-Lewisville November Teacher of the Month — the third honoree of the 2019-2020 school year.

Creekside teacher named Lewisville Chamber's Teacher of the Month for November 2019
As the first-grade English partner of a dual language partnership at Creekside, Formichella is passionate about bilingual education and has been a leader in the program. She continually finds new ways to motivate her students and help them celebrate their achievements. As a self-described “data nerd,” Formichella not only bases students’ goals on individual data, but also encourages colleagues to better understand student data and interpretation to maximize student growth. Furthermore, her leadership extends beyond Creekside and LISD – Formichella’s classroom is a model classroom for educators from other school districts to visit. Creekside’s principal says everything about Formichella reflects Creekside’s theme of “No Excuses.” Those who know her best describe her as a wonderful educator, colleague and mentor. It is no surprise Formichella has been selected as the November Teacher of the Month.

Formichella accepted the award Dec. 17 at the Chamber’s partnership luncheon held at Courtyard by Marriott in Flower Mound. Huffines Auto Dealership-Lewisville Business Relations Director Fred Whitfield and Chamber Board Chair Dan Irvin made the presentation. Formichella was joined at the luncheon by Creekside Principal Rod McGinnis
