Hebron, Flower Mound, and Marcus High School Bands Earn Advancement to the 6A State Marching Contest

Hebron, Flower Mound and Marcus High Schools set to compete in UIL 6A State Competition.

On Saturday, October 26th, the Hebron, Flower Mound and Marcus marching bands earned 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, respectively, at the UIL Area J Marching competition held in McKinney. All three marching band programs qualified for the UIL 6A State Marching competition, to be held November 11th and 12th at the San Antonio Alamodome.

Approximately forty advancing 6A programs from across the state will compete in the preliminary round on Monday, with fourteen bands advancing to the final round of competition on Tuesday afternoon. Congratulations and well wishes to the approximately 900 LISD high school band members representing Lewisville ISD at the UIL State Marching Band Contest!

  • 10:45 a.m. | Marcus HS – ‘In a New Light’ 
  • 5:00 p.m. | Flower Mound HS – ‘Textures and Tones’
  • 8:00 p.m. | Hebron HS – ‘Amorphous’

The Lewisville ISD Fine Arts Department oversees Art, Band, Choir, Dance, Music, Orchestra, and Theatre at LISD’s five high schools,15 middle schools and 40 elementary campuses. Talented arts educators and program directors foster student creativity, cultural awareness, inventiveness, and develop performance skills through these courses. Annually, Fine Arts students achieve State qualifications, earn Sweepstakes performance ratings and gain national recognition through their Fine Arts programs.
