College Street Elementary’s Diaz Named Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce/TIAA October Student of the Month

Jeslyn Diaz - Student of the Month Oct. 24, 2018 — College Street Elementary fifth-grader Jeslyn Diaz has been selected as Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce’s October Student of the Month — the second honoree of the 2018-2019 school year.

Those who know Diaz best said she inspires her classmates by being both a good leader and a good friend. Her principal Susan Heintzman said Diaz encourages others to find their voice and proves daily she will grow into a leader of tomorrow. In fact, Diaz was selected by her peers to be the College Street Student Council President this year and recently attended the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association Student Council Leadership training.

“Being named the student of the month is an exciting opportunity to have,” Diaz said. “Not everyone receives this award, and I’m very grateful.”

Diaz accepted the award, which is sponsored by TIAA, on Oct. 23 at the Chamber’s monthly luncheon held at Courtyard by Marriott Flower Mound. TIAA’s Antoinette Nevils and Chamber Vice Board Chair Ann Pape made the presentation. Caballero was joined at the event by her father and Principal Heintzman
