LISD Feb. 12 Board Meeting Recap

The Lewisville Independent School District Board of Trustees met for the regularly scheduled Board Meeting on Monday, February 12th.

Bluebonnet Elementary students led the Pledge of Allegiance.

ACTION ITEMS 
The Board approved the naming of the Lewisville High School Fieldhouse to the “Ronnie Gage Fieldhouse.” 

The Board approved the naming of the Marcus High School Track to the “Steve Telaneus Track at Marauder Stadium.”

RECOGNITIONS
Brenda Gonzalez, the school nurse at Lakeland Elementary, and Mary Ashmore, the school nurse at Downing Middle School, were recognized for rescuing staff members experiencing cardiac emergencies.  

42 LISD schools were recognized for receiving the Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas (CREST) Award from the Texas School Counselor Association. 

 

SUPERINTENDENT UPDATE 
Superintendent Dr. Lori Rapp began her update by recapping the Martin Luther King Jr. event. She also discussed the Go RED festivities happening around our campuses, recent updates from her student and community advisory committees, and upcoming staff connection opportunities. 

 

PUBLIC COMMENT: LEWISVILLE ISD STAKEHOLDERS
An LISD alumni and Lewisville resident thanked the Board and LISD staff members for their commitment to students.

PUBLIC HEARING ON TEXAS ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE REPORT (TAPR) FOR 2022-23
Chief Executive Director Accountability & Evaluation Dr. Sarah Fitzhugh, Chief Human Resource Officer Melissa Cobb, and Chief Financial Officer Scott Wrehe presented the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) for 2022-23. Details

Elementary Gifted & Talented Administrator Koby Stringer and Secondary Advanced Academics Administrator Tammy Williams provided the Gifted and Talented (GT) Annual Update. Details
