Asher Named Principal of Parkway Elementary
Lewisville ISD announced the appointment of Mrs. Jill Asher as the new principal of Parkway Elementary. Asher currently serves as principal of Macon-Hall Elementary in Memphis, TN.
“I am thrilled and honored to join Lewisville ISD as the new principal at Parkway Elementary,” Ms. Asher said. “I look forward to serving the great students, staff, families and community in the role of principal while continuing to build a love for learning for the students at Parkway.”
Mrs. Asher is entering her 28th year in education, all of which have come in Tennessee while working in Memphis. She started her career as a teacher in Shelby County Schools, teaching kindergarten and second grade. She then moved on to become an adjunct professor at the University of Phoenix in Memphis, while also teaching PreK at the same time. While teaching, Mrs. Asher worked remotely for the state of Tennessee, serving on the item and passage review committee for state testing. She then returned to the elementary classroom in 2009 for another four years and was a PLC Coach for the following three years after that. For the last six years, she was an assistant principal and principal at Macon-Hall Elementary in Memphis.
“We are excited to welcome Ms. Asher to Texas and Lewisville ISD” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lori Rapp said. “I’m certain the students and staff of Parkway will continue to thrive under her leadership.”
Mrs. Asher received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Georgia and her Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Memphis.
