Sanford Named Principal of Killian Middle School

Lewisville ISD announces appointment of Amy Sanford as the new principal of Killian Middle School.

Lewisville ISD announced the appointment of Amy Sanford as the new principal of Killian Middle School. She joins Killian after the last four years as assistant principal of Ford Middle School in Allen ISD.

“I am thrilled to join Lewisville ISD and serve as the principal of Killian Middle School,” Sanford said. “I look forward to creating a welcoming and motivating environment that helps our students be successful every day.”

Sanford has worked in public education for 20 years with Allen ISD and most recently as assistant principal at Ford Middle School, where she has been since 2019. Prior to moving into school administration, Sanford served as an instructional coach at Ford MS for two years. Sanford began her educational career in the classroom, having taught elementary, middle school and high school math for nearly 15 years. As assistant principal, Sanford was recognized by Region 10 Texas Association of Secondary School Principals as the Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year in 2021-22.

“Ms. Sanford is dedicated to creating a positive culture where students and staff are challenged and encouraged to reach their highest potential,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lori Rapp said. “We are excited to have her in LISD and look forward to her leadership at Killian next school year.”

Sanford received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M and a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington.
