MSVL Family Update | Sept. 11
Another week of virtual learning is in the books! We thank you for your continued support and patience as we establish some new routines for this fall semester. We are receiving many calls and emails from you, and want to let you know we appreciate the feedback you have provided. As we continue to work through these new experiences, please know we are dedicated to providing the best education possible to our students.
To further help you at home, we are implementing a few new systems to help you navigate the virtual learning experience:
Lesson Plans
With the removal of the pacing calendar in Edgenuity, virtual teachers will now post their weekly lesson plans to their Canvas course under the Modules page. We understand it was sometimes difficult to locate class agendas, so our hope is to have a uniform place to post the lesson plans.
Edgenuity Technical Assistance
This week, Edgenuity introduced a new procedure for reporting technical issues which should facilitate a faster response time to address specific student concerns. If your student is experiencing any difficulties within the Edgenuity platform or within a specific course, they will need to submit an Edgenuity Support Ticket at https://edgenuityhelp.lisd.net/.
Parent Portal
The Parent Portal will be available for middle school parents beginning Monday, Sept. 14. An email has been sent out with instructions for setting up your Edgenuity account along with a personal Access Code. You must have the Access Code to link the Parent Portal to your child’s account.
Contact Us
The Virtual Pathway administrators and staff members can be reached at (469) 444-3557 to assist parents and students Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Help is offered in Spanish, Hindi, and Urdu. You may also contact us at MSvirtual@lisd.net.
Parent Education Program
Our first Parent Education Program (PEP) will be available on the Virtual Pathway website on Wednesday, Sept. 16. The topic is Canvas, WebEx, & Edgenuity - How Do They Work Together?
