After the votes were canvassed, Judge James Kerbow administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected board members.

"Words cannot begin to express my gratitude towards the Lewisville ISD Community," said Alkhatib. "I am looking forward to continuing to advocate for our district and being the voice for our community as I embark on this new journey. Thank you for entrusting me with this responsibility."

"I am grateful to all the voters and supporters who have put their trust in me to join this amazing Team of 8 in leading our district," said Barker. "I am excited to work with my fellow board members, Dr. Rapp, and the hard-working staff here at LISD to serve our students, parents, and community members. My goal is to join the current work to ensure that each child gets the best possible education, seeking continuous improvement where it is needed."

New officers were also named to the Board of Trustees. Jenny Proznik (Place 5) was named Board President, Dr. Buddy Bonner (Place 1) was named Vice President and Katherine Sells (Place 4) was named Secretary.

“Board elections are critically important to our district, and I am grateful for the more-than-sixteen thousand LISD residents who cast their ballots,” said LISD Superintendent Dr. Lori Rapp. “LISD has long benefited from a strong Board-Superintendent relationship, and I am looking forward to working with these seven outstanding elected Board members to continue our important work for the district.”
