LISD Family Update About Possible Winter Weather

District monitoring next week's forecast.

LISD Families,

Our district is currently monitoring the winter weather predicted for next week. At this point, there is a significant chance for inclement weather, and we want to make you aware of how the district will respond in the event of school closures and our plan of action to assist you with preparations.

While we hope to have school next week, if a decision is made to close schools, Tuesday would serve as a “bad weather day" for all students, both in-person and virtual.

If necessary, Wednesday through Friday would serve as remote learning days for in-person students and virtual learning would resume for virtual students. As a reminder, Monday, Feb. 15 is a scheduled holiday for students and staff.

School Closure Notifications
If a decision is made to close schools, all parents and staff will be notified via multiple platforms, including: LISD’s parent callout system Skylert, LISD websites and all district social media (FacebookTwitter and Instagram).

We ask that you ensure your contact information is up-to-date in Skyward Family Access. Please remember, the district does not send out emails or other forms of communication if there are no changes to the regular school day or after school activities.

Free Meals
On days schools and district facilities are closed, curbside meal pickup will not be available.

Technology (PK-3)
If you have a student in grades PK-3, a device was sent home with your child.

The safety of students and staff is our top priority, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we prepare for possible winter weather.

Thank you for your continued support of Lewisville ISD.
