LISD Announces Stadium Security Enhancements
In Texas, Friday nights are for football.
As Lewisville ISD gears up for the first football games of the 2022-23 school year, stadium security has remained at the forefront of gameday preparation. In order to maximize the safety of student-athletes and fans, while minimizing the impact on the Friday Night Lights experience, LISD is rolling out a number of new security and supervision enhancements.
As in previous years, LISD will be working closely with local police forces to provide assistance with security and traffic control.
LISD also recently announced a partnership with Stadium People, an event staffing company based in Dallas, to provide additional game supervision at all LISD stadiums this coming season. Stadium People proudly serves venues around the country, including Dickie’s Arena, Texas Motor Speedway, Texas Christian University and The University of Texas, among many others.
While field access will be limited this year, student activities and recognitions, including elementary and middle school nights, senior nights and homecoming recognitions will remain unaffected. Families accompanying their students during these activities will be allowed on the field with proper identification and authorization.
Band, drill team, and football booster volunteers will also be allowed to continue with usual gameday activities with proper credentials and authorization. All other individuals seeking field access must be approved by the campus principal, who are provided a limited number of sideline credentials to help ensure the safety of both student athletes and spectators. Following the conclusion of each game, only those with the proper credentials will be allowed to access the field.
As in previous years, no outside food or drink will be allowed and fans will be asked to dispose of these items prior to entry. The following items are also prohibited in all LISD football stadiums: backpacks, firearms, alcohol, tobacco products (including e-cigarettes) and artificial noisemakers. No re-entry will be permitted.
The staffing company individuals will be clearly marked and will be very visible to help with securing gates, scanning tickets, walking traffic under the stands and field access. This allows campus administration to better support the fan experience and LISD to provide a safe and secure environment for all attendees.
LISD has partnered with HomeTown Ticketing to provide digital ticketing services for all district athletic events. This partnership will allow for a more streamlined and secure entry process. Please note that money will not be taken at the gate, and fans are encouraged to download the HomeTown app and purchase tickets in advance. Season ticket and sports pass options are also available.
