March 10 Update
Lewisville ISD Parents and Staff,
The district continues to monitor the CDC’s list of countries with widespread or ongoing community spread of COVID-19, or coronavirus, via the CDC website here. This is a constantly changing situation, and we encourage you to continue monitoring your email, the LISD website and social media channels for the latest district information.
As many LISD families depart for Spring Break travel, it is important to stay aware of any additional areas that may be added to the list in the near future.
We ask for any students or employees to stay home for 14 days after they return if over Spring Break they plan to travel:
- to China, Iran, Italy, South Korea or Japan, (all currently on CDC Level 2 or 3);
- to any additional countries added to the CDC Level 2 and 3 lists; or
- via cruise line
LISD will work with each family or staff member impacted during this extended absence period to resolve any attendance issues. Documentation of travel to an impacted area will be required.
As always, we encourage our families to keep children at home when they are sick or experiencing a fever. As a reminder, your child must be fever-free for 24 hours without Tylenol or Advil, and not experiencing vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours prior to returning to school.
As we have a clearer picture of how COVID-19 affects our area, LISD may make adjustments to its procedures. The district is evaluating the impact of student absences on exam exemptions and perfect attendance reward programs, among other things.
The safety of our students and staff continues to be our top priority. We will monitor updates from the CDC and the Texas Department of State Health Services for additional information and guidance and will share details with you regarding any updates we may receive.
Thank you for your continued support of LISD.
