Camey Elementary’s Acevedo Named The Colony Chamber of Commerce/DATCU Credit Union December Teacher of the Month
Acevedo honored at monthly leadership luncheon.
Stephanie Acevedo of Camey Elementary has been selected as The Colony Chamber of Commerce/DATCU Credit Union March Teacher of the Month – the seventh honoree of the 2019-2020 school year.
Acevedo, who teaches kindergarten, was honored because of her dedication and energy given each day to her students and CES. She exemplifies Lewisville ISD’s cornerstones of Student Learning and Student Experience by providing engaging, meaningful and relevant opportunities for students.
Acevedo is described as a wonderful teacher who always goes above and beyond for her students and school. She demonstrates exceptional leadership skills and is truly committed to building strong relationships with her students, teammates and the community. Camey Elementary leaders say the school is lucky to have her.
It is no surprise Acevedo was selected as the Chamber’s March Teacher of the Month.
“I’m honored to be named Teacher of the Month,” Acevedo said. “We have amazing teachers at our school. Every day I try to love my students, be there for them and let them know they can always rely on me.”
Acevedo was presented her award, which is sponsored by DATCU Credit Union, on March 12 at the Chamber’s monthly leadership luncheon at The Colony City Hall Annex. DATCU Community Relations Coordinator Mary Jacoby and the Chamber’s Board Chairman Gary Briggs made the presentation.
Acevedo was joined at the event by CES Counselor Brenda Schwartz.
