The 2026-27 Discovery Academy Application closed Feb. 13, 2026.

The 2026-27 Discovery Academy application opened January 9, 2026, and closed February 16, 2026. Applicants will be emailed about their selection status on February 20, by 5 PM.

2026-27 Discovery Academy classes are located at:

• Forest Vista Elementary School (one DA class)
• Heritage Elementary School (three DA classes)
• Liberty Elementary School (two DA classes)
• Lillie J Jackson Early Childhood Center (two DA classes) 
• Memorial STEM Academy (two DA classes)
• Timber Creek Elementary School (one DA class)  

An application is required to be selected for enrollment in the Discovery Academy. Students must be 3 or 4 years old on/before September 1 of the school year for which you are applying to be accepted into the Discovery Academy. Discovery Academy does not enroll children who are already 5 years old on/before Sept. 1 of the enrolling school year.

Children must also be fully toilet trained (no frequent accidents, no diapers or pull-ups even at nap time) to participate in this tuition program.

Monthly tuition, paid from August–April (nine equal payments), is $840 with a $240 non-refundable registration fee ($100 is applied to the first month's tuition). Tuition Rates can be found here.  

Students who live in the school zone of a Discovery Academy class have first priority for a spot in the DA class. Spots are also available for children who qualify for state-funded PreK and children/grandchildren of LISD employees looking for an extended day PreK option.
