Bus Transportation Eligibility
In accordance with state and federal regulations, Lewisville ISD Board policies outline specific criteria to ensure student transportation services are provided in a fair and equitable manner.

Eligible Criteria
A student is deemed eligible for transportation if they meet at least one of the following:
- Distance Requirement: Resides more than 2 miles from their assigned home campus.
- Board-Designated Hazardous Route: Resides within 2 miles of their home campus, but in an area officially designated as hazardous by the LISD Board of Trustees.
- Special Education or McKinney-Vento: Approved for special transportation by an ARD committee, or identified as homeless under the McKinney-Vento Act by the district liaison.
- Specialized Programs: Enrolled in a district-specific program that explicitly requires transportation services.

Ineligible Criteria
A student is not eligible for transportation if they fall into any of the following categories:
- Non-Hazardous < 2 Miles: Lives within 2 miles of their home campus in a non-hazardous area.
- Transfer Students: Attending a school outside their designated home attendance zone on an approved transfer.
- Pre-Kindergarten: Enrolled in general Pre-Kindergarten programs (unless covered under specific special transportation requirements).
