LISD App Store

The LISD App Store (Self-Service) allows the scoping of specific apps that are content and developmentally appropriate directly to student iPads through one portal. Parents may customize student access to LISD App Store applications using parental control settings on their child's iPad. Instructions for setting parental controls are located here.

Elementary and Middle School LISD App Store:

After many discussions with LISD parents, staff, administrators and the Technology Advisory Council (TAC), the district has provided the LISD App Store and removed the Apple App Store from student devices in grades PK-9.

The Apple App store will be removed from 9th grade devices once they are refreshed in September or October.

High School LISD App Store and Apple App Store:

Students in grades 10-12 have access to the LISD App Store (Self-service), as well as the Apple App Store. 17+ apps are hidden in the Apple app store. LISD Self-Service has curated applications that have been reviewed prior to student access. For more information on the high school Apple App store please click here.

LISD App Store:

Only the LISD App Store will be available on the elementary, middle school, and 9th grade student iPad.

  • Any student/parent purchased apps in the Apple App Store will not be available on PK-9th grade LISD iPads.
  • Only approved, specific apps can be installed on student iPads through LISD Self-Service.
  • Using a parent created Apple ID, all students have access to clean music through the Apple Music app.
  • LISD staff and LISD Parents can request an app to be placed in the LISD store .
  • LISD staff have access to the LISD App store to download needed apps without an Apple ID.
  • LISD staff needing a paid app or digital resource, please complete the Software Approval process.
