LISD Superintendent Dr. Lori Rapp Named 2025 Region 11 Superintendent of the Year
Lewisville ISD is proud to announce that Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lori Rapp has been named the 2025 Region 11 Superintendent of the Year by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB).
This prestigious honor recognizes Dr. Rapp’s exceptional leadership, vision, and lifelong commitment to public education. Dr. Rapp has spent her entire 30-year career serving the students, staff, and families of LISD. Since her appointment in 2022, she has united the LISD community under a shared mission of excellence, and built a culture rooted in trust, belonging, and student-focused decision-making.
“Region 11’s recognition of Dr. Rapp comes as no surprise to the LISD Board,” said Board President Jenny Proznik. “We have a front-row seat to her passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our students, staff, and community. It’s an honor to work alongside her and witness her dedication to the learners and leaders of LISD every day.”
The Region 11 selection committee highlighted Dr. Rapp’s accomplishments in academic achievement, school improvement, transparent communication, and responsible financial stewardship, including the successful passage of two major bond elections and a VATRE election. Her ability to lead with both heart and strategy is evident in every aspect of her service to LISD and the broader educational community.
Dr. Rapp was nominated for the award by the LISD Board of Trustees and selected through a rigorous regional process that included a comprehensive application and interview. According to a release by TASB, candidates for the award must be nominated by their school boards and must demonstrate strong leadership skills, dedication to improving the quality of education in their districts, commitment to public support and involvement in education, and ability to build good employee relations among teachers and staff members. The regional selection process included a robust application process and interview that allowed candidates to voice their views on great leadership, current events in education, and highlights of their careers.
As the regional winner of the Superintendent of the Year award, Dr. Rapp will move on to compete at the State level with the other 19 regional candidates. The 2025 Texas Superintendent of the Year will be announced at the txEDCON conference in Sept.
On behalf of the entire Lewisville ISD community, we congratulate Dr. Rapp on this well-deserved recognition. We are proud to have such a dedicated, visionary leader at the helm and look forward to the continued impact of her leadership in the years ahead.
