LISD Announces Miles as Principal of Memorial Elementary

LISD Announces Miles as Principal of Memorial Elementary

Lewisville ISD announced on June 2 the appointment of Sherri Miles as the new principal of The LISD STEM Academy at Memorial Elementary. Miles most recently served as assistant principal of Memorial Elementary, a position she has held for two years.

“It is an incredible honor to continue serving the Memorial community in this new role,” Miles said. “Over the past two years, I’ve seen the heart, dedication, and talent that make this campus so special. I’m excited to build on the strong foundation already in place and to partner with our amazing staff, students, and families as we continue to grow and thrive together.”

Miles’ entire 32-year career has been right here in Lewisville ISD, where she started as a paraprofessional. Beginning in 2005, she served as a special education teacher at Central Elementary and then Lillie J. Jackson Early Childhood Center before becoming an Instructional Coach and Response to Intervention (RtI) Coordinator at Lillie J. In 2019, she joined campus administration at Lillie J. as an assistant principal, and served as an Early Childhood Summer School principal in 2021, 2022 and 2024. For the 2023-24 school year she moved to Memorial to serve as an Assistant Principal.

“Sherri Miles is a passionate and student-centered leader who deeply understands the needs of the Memorial community,” said LISD Superintendent Dr. Lori Rapp. “Her experience, dedication, and relationships on campus make her the perfect person to lead Memorial into its next chapter.”

Miles received her Bachelor of Science from Texas Woman’s University and her Master’s of Education from Concordia University.
