LHS Hosts Annual ‘Teenpreneur Talks Day’ with Community Leaders

Future entrepreneurs in Lewisville High School’s INCubatoredu program gained real-world networking experience this morning at the annual “Teenpreneur Talks Day.”

The INCubatoredu program is a yearlong course where students learn what it takes to be an entrepreneur and work together to develop plans for their own small businesses.

At “Teenpreneur Talks Day,” students practiced their soft skills with local business owners and community leaders by introducing themselves, asking thoughtful questions and sharing their ideas.

INCubatoredu teacher Nicole Franczvai said the goal of the event is for the students to build confidence in a supportive environment. 

“I think they will come away with confidence and see that it is not as complex as it seems,” Franczvai said. “My hope is that they will get used to their own ability to represent themselves well and just shine the light that I know is in them to others.”

Franczvai said networking events like this one teach the students valuable skills that they can carry with them even no matter what pathway they choose.

“This is a chance for them to make positive first impressions and practice what we have learned in the classroom,” Franczvai said. ”I think that if you can learn how to talk to people and leave them with a positive impression and look them in the eye you are going to go so far in life and that is a skill that will benefit them no matter where they go.”

At the end of the year, students will pitch their ideas to investors with the hope of receiving funding to launch them during the summer and following school year.
