Lewisville ISD Names Cleve Ryan as Executive Director of Transportation

Lewisville ISD announced March 9 the appointment of Cleve Ryan as the new Executive Director of Transportation Services. Ryan brings more than three decades of experience in public education, most recently serving as a teacher and head boys’ basketball coach at The Colony High School.

Throughout his career, he has built a reputation as a strong relationship-builder, problem solver, and leader. As a longtime educator in the district, Ryan has a deep understanding of the community, its history, and the evolving needs of Lewisville ISD students and families.

“Mr. Ryan is a trusted leader who understands Lewisville ISD from the inside out,” said Dr. Lori Rapp, Superintendent of Schools. “He knows our history, he understands the evolving landscape of public education, and he has consistently demonstrated the ability to build a strong culture and develop leaders. Cleve brings a steady, solutions-oriented approach that will serve our transportation team and our families well.”

Ryan’s leadership has long extended beyond the classroom. As a successful head basketball coach, he has cultivated a culture of teamwork, accountability, and student success while mentoring generations of student leaders and young educators. His work supporting campus operations, including his widely respected leadership coordinating stadium and event management on Friday nights, demonstrates his ability to manage complex logistics while prioritizing student and community safety.

In his new role, Ryan will oversee the district’s transportation services, focusing on building strong team culture, supporting staff, and ensuring safe and reliable transportation for LISD students.

Ryan holds a Master of Education in Administration from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin State University.
