Lewisville ISD Announces Appointment of Will Skelton as Chief of Student Services
Lewisville ISD announced March 9 the appointment of Will Skelton as the district’s new Chief of Student Services. He takes over for Jeffrey Kajs, who recently announced his retirement after 31 years of service to LISD.
“I am sincerely grateful for the people and opportunities that have shaped my journey in Lewisville ISD, and I look forward to continuing to serve our students, families, staff, and community in this new role,” Skelton said.
Skelton most recently served as the Chief of High Schools for LISD, a role he has held since 2024. Prior to joining central administration, he served as principal of Marcus High School from 2018–24 and as principal of Flower Mound High School’s Ninth Grade Campus from 2014–18, building a strong track record of student-centered leadership at both campuses.
Over the course of his 25 years in Lewisville ISD, Skelton has guided students, families, and educators through the evolving landscape of public education. At Marcus High School, he focused on student learning and intentionally expanded opportunities for engagement, purposed to cultivate a culture where every student could thrive and feel a genuine sense of belonging. Under his leadership, participation steadily increased year after year across athletics, fine arts, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, connecting more students to meaningful experiences, fostering both academic success and personal growth.
Throughout his career, Skelton has held additional roles as assistant principal, department chair, and fine arts educator. He began his career as a band director and remains deeply committed to student engagement through academics, athletics, fine arts, and leadership development.
Skelton has been widely recognized for his leadership and service. He was named the 2024 Administrator of the Year by the Texas Association of Journalism Educators and LISD’s Secondary Principal of the Year in 2020. He also received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Marcus High School PTSA in 2022 and the Flower Mound High School PTSA in 2017.
“Mr. Skelton understands Lewisville ISD at every level, from the classroom to campus leadership to district administration,” Superintendent of LISD Lori Rapp said. “He is a relationship-driven leader who keeps students at the center of every decision. His depth of experience and unwavering focus on student success will serve our district well in this important role.”
In his new role, Skelton will oversee student support services including Athletics, Fine Arts, Safety and Security, Health Services, Student Engagement, Demographics, Student Discipline, Transportation Services, and other programs that promote student well-being across the district.
Skelton earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music with a certification in secondary music from Stephen F. Austin State University. He received a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and his principal certification at the University of North Texas. Skelton and his wife Corrinne, who also works in Lewisville ISD, are proud parents of students attending Lewisville ISD schools.
