Forestwood Community Update | Feb. 2026

Forestwood Community Update | Feb. 2026

Forestwood Families,

I am writing today to share information about an exciting improvement project that will soon begin at our campus as part of the Lewisville ISD 2024 Bond.

Since Forestwood opened, our campus has not had a full-size track and field, which has created ongoing challenges for our students and athletic programs. As part of the bond package approved by voters in 2024, Forestwood will receive a redesigned, regulation-size track and field to better support our students and ensure our campus has facilities comparable to all 14 other middle schools in LISD.

Because of our site’s unique shape, floodplain considerations, and limited space, engineers carefully evaluated multiple design options. The selected plan preserves as many existing trees as possible while still providing a regulation facility. In addition, new trees will be planted as part of the project, and the district will cover any required mitigation.

You may notice construction activity and increased noise during the construction period, particularly for neighbors whose homes are closest to the fence line. We understand this may be temporarily inconvenient and appreciate our community’s patience. Once construction is complete, noise levels will return to what the community typically experiences during regular school and athletic use.

We are grateful for the community’s support of this bond project and for your continued partnership as we work to provide equitable, high-quality facilities for all LISD students.
