Dr. Bonner Resigns from Board

LISD Community,

I want to reach out to you with an important update regarding the Board of Trustees. Dr. Buddy Bonner has shared the decision to resign from his role as At-Large Place 6 Trustee on the Lewisville ISD Board of Trustees, in adherence to Board Policy BBFB on nepotism. This policy, which will soon apply to Dr. Bonner, prevents Board members from confirming employment for  family members.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I wish to express our heartfelt gratitude for Dr. Bonner’s unwavering dedication and service to Lewisville ISD. His vast knowledge, steadfast leadership, and genuine care for our students and staff have left a lasting mark on our district. Serving alongside Dr. Bonner has truly been an honor, and we are deeply thankful for the wisdom, compassion, and perspective he consistently brought to the Board.

We sincerely hope you will join us in celebrating Dr. Bonner’s many years of meaningful service and in wishing him and his family well on this next chapter.

As we move forward, the Board will discuss the next steps during our August Board Meeting, and we promise to keep our community informed every step of the way.

As a Board we remain focused on our mission of “Engaging and Inspiring learners and leaders” and look forward to a great school year.
