13 Lewisville ISD Students Named National Math Stars

13 students in Lewisville ISD have been selected as National Math Stars. They have been selected as some of just over 600 nationwide from a pool of nearly 9,000 top elementary math students from around the country. 

The 2026 Stars from Lewisville ISD are:

• Aiden Jang, Forest Vista Elementary, Pathfinder Star
• Gia Kaur, Independence Elementary, Pathfinder Star
• Maurya Koneni, Old Settlers Elementary, Pathfinder Star
• Shruthi Kumaresan, Independence Elementary, Pathfinder Star
• Klyde Park, Homestead Elementary, Pathfinder Star

Voyager Stars 

Voyager is a ten-year, fully funded program that supports and inspires our Stars’ mathematical journeys from as early as second grade through the end of high school. Voyager is designed for families with significant unmet need for both guidance and financial support. Over ten years, we invest more than $100,000 in each Star to create a pathway for them to reach the frontiers of mathematics, science, and technology. Every Star is unique, so we work in close partnership with them and their families to design a journey that aligns with their strengths and interests. 

Pathfinder Stars

Pathfinder is a ten-year program that supports and inspires our Stars’ mathematical journeys from as early as second grade through the end of high school. Pathfinder is open to all of the country’s most talented young mathematicians, regardless of family need. Pathfinder Stars and their families gain access to expert guidance from the National Math Stars team, fun and informational community gatherings, and a pool of need-based funds to pay for advanced STEM courses and camps.

National Math Stars is a nonprofit that identifies mathematically extraordinary students beginning in 2nd and 3rd grade and supports them for ten years, through high school graduation. Founded in 2023, the organization now works with schools and districts in ten states.

Each Star was selected after a multi-stage evaluation of mathematical aptitude. Fewer than 7% of applicants are accepted as National Math Stars. 

Over the next ten years, each of these students will receive:

• Financial support for advanced math courses and more
• Ongoing mentorship and guidance from the National Math Stars team
• Advanced math learning opportunities
• STEM enrichment materials and experiences
• Invitations to math competitions and summer camps
