  • It is with careful consideration and thought that LISD will move forward as planned on the implementation of a pass/fail grading system. We thank our community members who have submitted questions and feedback regarding the changes to grading. 

    As you can imagine, this is a topic that generates a wide variety of opinions and thoughts.  In order to provide additional clarification regarding this decision, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions below.

  • Why did LISD make adjustments to the traditional grading system?

  • Were grades taken during the initial weeks of at-home learning (March 23-April 2nd)?

  • How does LISD moving to a P/F system and other districts moving to a 100/69 system affect my child when considering acceptance into college?

  • Since the Governor closed schools for the year, does my child even need to worry about doing the work assigned by the teachers to complete their high school credits?

  • Will these new guidelines impact a high school student’s GPA or Class Rank during the at-home learning timeframe?

  • Why is there not the possibility for students to opt in with using their numeric grades from the at-home learning period?
