In-District - Students in grades K to 12th who live within LISD may apply to transfer from their zoned school to another LISD school.

Out-of-District - Students in grades K to 12th who live in another district may apply to transfer to an LISD school.

Please note if you are applying for an out of district transfer, we require a copy of your child’s most recent report card, attendance records, and discipline records to be uploaded in the Enrollment Form.

• In approving transfers, the campus will consider availability of space and availability of instructional staff, the student’s grades, the student’s disciplinary history, and the student’s attendance records. Not all schools will be available.
• An approval can be retracted if the applicant provided incorrect information, false information, or if approved in error.
• If you are applying to a campus that has a special program (STEM, Spanish Immersion, Collegiate Academy, or PreK), you must apply through those departments.
• No transportation is provided by the district, except as required by other laws.
• Students who choose to withdraw, may lose their transfer permission.
• Approved students who live within LISD attendance zones may remain at the campus up to the highest grade level at the school without having to re-apply. However, a revocation will cause the loss of the transfer.
• A new application must be submitted each year for out of district students.
• Students must abide by all UIL rules. Students should check eligibility rules with the transfer school.

If the transfer is approved, the student is expected to follow school rules, attend school regularly, maintain passing grades, uphold appropriate behavior, and participate in school activities when possible. Parents are expected to assist their children in their academic efforts, support good behavior, ensure their children are on time and ready for school each day, and be supportive of the school's goals and objectives. Failure to meet any of these expectations may result in a transfer being revoked.
