Howdy! 

My name is Mrs. Stevens, previously Ms. Nielsen, and I have been teaching ELAR at Huffines since 2019. I love showing my Husky Pride! I also have Hawk Pride as I graduated from Hebron High School in Lewisville ISD! Before that, I went to Arbor Creek Middle School, and I started out my education at Homestead Elementary. After high school, I studied Theatre Performance at Baylor University, then transferred to the University of North Texas in Denton where I received a Bachelor's of Arts in Theatre Education. While I love musical theatre, singing, dancing, acting, and performing, reading and writing are two things I've always been passionate about, which allows my students to be passionate about the curriculum as well. Currently, I am working on my Master's in Counseling and Development at Texas Woman's University to become a school counselor. I love forming lasting relationships with my students and look forward to helping them beyond just teaching them.

Besides the performing arts, some of my other interests are college football (Sic 'Em, Bears!), the NFL and Fantasy Football (I won my fantasy league last season), and watching old and new TV shows and movies. My husband and I love binge watching our comfort shows and stepping out of our comfort zone with new movies and shows. We love our cat, Rosie, and hope to get a dog soon once we move to a house with a yard!

I am excited about working with my students this year and to go on adventures through literature!
