Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Dana McGraw
Hello! My name is Dana McGraw. I am so excited to be teaching Kindergarten at The LISD STEM Academy at Donald Elementary! This will be my eighth year of teaching. Before coming to Donald, I taught Kindergarten for 3 years, I spent one year in fifth grade, and I spent three years teaching a self contained special education class in Illinois. Kindergarten is my absolute favorite age and grade to teach! I love to see the pure joy and wonderment that a 5 year old brings to school with him or her every single day! Together we will learn so many things in, what seems like, a short amount of time! I can¹t wait to see your child shine!
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. I attended TCU for 1 year before transferring to and graduating with honors from Iowa State University. I earned a Bachelor¹s Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Reading and Special Education. I am also certified to teach English as a Second Language. I was blessed to stay home for 19 years with our 5 kids. Although I was not in a classroom I never stopped being a teacher whether I was teaching Sunday School, preschool coop classes, homeschooling or just doing homework with my crew. I am happily married (29 years) to my high school sweetheart, Bill. We have lived here in Flower Mound for 14 years and all 5 of our fabulous kids attend or have attended LISD schools. Coulter is 24 and about to graduate from UNT. Madison is 22, a recent graduate from A & M, Blake is 20 and a student at Blinn College in College Station. Makenna 17 and a senior at FMHS. Our youngest is Merideth, she is 13 and a 7th grader at SRMS. As you can see we have lots going on all the time. When I am not teaching you will find me watching one or both of our girls play soccer and basketball, shopping, going to the movies, working out at Camp Gladiator (early in the morning!) or reading.
