Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Barbara Matous
Welcome to Creek Valley Middle School! I have been teaching Family & Consumer Sciences classes in LISD since 1997 and at Creek Valley Middle School since 2002. I teach three different FCS classes: Skills for Living 6 (for 6th graders)
Skills for Living (for 7th & 8th graders)
Principles of Human Services ( for 8th graders)
PHS is a high school credit class. I love teaching students practical skills that will help them become independent adults. It is fun to see them get excited about their accomplishments, especially in our cooking and sewing units! I also enjoy the opportunity to have students in my class for more than one year.
About me: I am a native Texan, I grew up in central Texas, near Waco. I attended UNT, where I met my husband and we stayed in the north Texas area. My husband and I have three daughters who are LISD graduates and college graduates. I have one grandson, he is 4 years old; I love being his Nana!! In my "spare time" I enjoy spending time with family, reading books for my church book club, gardening and cooking. I also enjoy sewing and my favorite hobby is scrapbooking!
Information about the different classes can be found in Canvas.
