Degrees and Certifications:
Dr. Michelle Wooten
I was born and raised in and around Baltimore, MD. I wanted to be a teacher since the age of 8. My first teaching job was in my old elementary school, North Glen right outside of Baltimore. I taught second grade for 3 years before moving to Texas with my husband. I was a reading specialist at Creekside in LISD, then moved to a 3rd grade position before opening Rockbrook Elementary as third grade team lead. While at Rockbrook, I went to UNT and received my Master’s Degree. Once I graduated from UNT, I became an Assistant Principal at Donald for 3 years before becoming Donald’s Principal. I am married to my wonderful husband and best friend, Bret and I am the mother of a smart, creative, and inventive little girl, Joslyn. In addition On August 3, 2018 I graduated from DBU with my doctorate degree in Educational Leadership. Absolutely love being a principal. Mother, wife, and dolphin. Looking forward to opening the very first STEM Academy the fall of 2018 in LISD.
