Welcome to science! I am Mrs. Abernathy and I love teaching science. We will begin this school year virtually and have a lot of great opportunities to get to know one another and begin our science journey together.  As a student you will participate in lively conversations and discussions, interactive activities and explore the world around you.  I have found that my calling as a teacher and could not feel more lucky to be your teacher.

I am a busy mom of two amazing daughters.  My husband and I are looking forward to an exciting school year as our eldest daughter moves into 10th grade and our youngest into 5th.  As a family we enjoy hiking, camping and attending our children's sporting events.  I am also a proud graduate of UNT where I received my Bachelor's in social work as well as my Masters in Secondary Education.  I hope that this year is great for family, friends, students, parents and communities alike.
