Hi, my name is Kelly Thomason, and this is my 18th year at Highland Village! I have been teaching for a total of 21 years, mostly in 4th grade. I have lived in TX most of my adult life; however, I originally hail from Syracuse, NY. I am married and have two grown adult children, plus 2 sweet pups that keep me entertained. When I am not teaching or hanging out at HVE, I enjoy reading a good mystery novel or any kind of historical fiction book, traveling to visit friends and family, and occasionally working out! I also enjoy learning about different cultures; their foods they eat and how they communicate!

I absolutely LOVE teaching 4th graders. They always make me laugh with their natural curiosity and fun-loving nature, especially at this age. My hope is that they always feel that they can ask questions, and know that it's ok to make mistakes while learning. I want them to feel that they can take risks while in my classroom, but mostly that they are loved and cared about!
