Mrs. Bonner

Welcome to McAuliffe Art!  This is my 9th year teaching Art at McAuliffe and my 16 year in Lewisville ISD.  I attended Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and received a BSE in Elementary Education. I am currently in graduate school at Dallas Baptist University and will graduate in May with a Master's in School Counseling.

I have always had a passion for art and took many art classes throughout college and am certified to teach art  Kindergarten-12th grade in the state of Texas.  I am a member of the Texas Art Educators Association and attend many art conferences and workshops throughout the school year.  I enjoy painting, drawing, knitting and creating on my own time as well.  I have a love for kids and aim to build meaningful relationships with each one of my students and their families.

If you have a special talent, gift, or expertise that you would like to share with students, please let me know.  Remember all volunteers need to be cleared through Voly and background checked. Please email me, call me, or write me a note and let me know if you have something awesome to share!

I have 3 children.  My son, James, is a senior at Texas A&M and majors in business and finance.  My daughter, Charlece, is a junior at Ouachita Baptist University and is studying to be an elementary teacher. My son, Sam, is in 6th grade at Briarhill Middle School.  My husband works for LISD and has two daughters. Natalie is a senior at Marcus high school and Avery is a sophomore at UNT.

In my free time, I enjoy playing board games with my family, traveling, painting and going to museums around our area.  I love the Dallas Museum of Art and it has free admission!

When I was a child, I didn't have an art teacher until 3rd grade.  I remember loving school and loving art class!  I can remember cool clay projects, painting landscapes, and how my teacher would display all our work.  My passion is to educate all students and help them find and grow their own talents.  I love teaching and I love kids.
