  • My name is Lisa Marie Bennett and I am the Technology Applications specials teacher here at Independence. I teach Kindergarten through Fifth grade, and I see every student once every six school days. We explore technology in my classroom through iPads, MacBook Airs, Chromebooks and the students' own devices that they bring to school.  This will be my 17th year teaching, and my eighth year here at Independence.  Before I came to Independence, I taught 4th grade, 5th grade Science, and 2nd grade.

I have a husband named Chris who works in IT at the University of North Texas.  I also have a son, Daniel, who is in 9th grade at Flower Mound High School.  My daughter, Claire, is in 4th grade in the dual language program here at Independence.  As a family, we love to visit Disney World and work out at Lifetime Fitness.  My husband and I take Zumba, my son loves his skateboard and is part of the drama program at his school, and my daughter loves to swim, dance and sing.

My hope in our class is to expose my students to all the new and fun things going on in technology.  Please feel free to contact me at anytime if you need anything!
