What is student council?
The purpose of student council is to give students an opportunity to learn about the government process, improve communication between students and staff, and build school spirit. We also focus on many community service projects throughout the school year. Student council helps sponsor special school events and even fun spirit days!
Occasionally throughout the year student council plans fun spirit days. Some examples are crazy hat day, slipper day, or tropical day. Student council members encourage their classmates to participate by dressing up and taking part in the day’s events.
Who can join?
Student council is open to passing students in 4th and 5th grade. We are looking for strong leaders who show wolf pride everyday. Committee Members return a written application for membership into Student Council. Homeroom classes in 4th & 5th grades also elect 2 homeroom class representatives. Lastly, three 5th grade officers are elected for the positions of President, Vice President, and Secretary.
When do we meet?
Monthly meetings will be held the first Wednesday of each month from 2:55-4:00 sharp. All meetings will be in Mrs. Bevenue’s classroom, unless otherwise noted.
