TECC-West AVP students work with the Lewisville Football Association's Cheer Off event each year since 1996. One of our student crews are in charge of the PA system for the event. Our other student crew produces a live three camera video production of the event and provide the judges with video playback. The live production is then edited, mixed, authored and then offered to parents.
The City of Lewisville's television channel LVTV produces a bi-monthly show called "Community Comments". Host Calvin Dorsey talks with monthly guests about area nonprofit organizations, school programs, cultural activities. TECC-West AVP students volunteer their time after school to record each program. This show is recored live to tape in the TECC-West soundstage and airs on LVTV.
The LHS Circle of Friends Prom is recorded by a volunteer and our students. A TECC-West student assists in editing, authoring the DVD, creates the disc graphics, and duplicates the copies for the participants.
The TECC-West AVP program provides the PA system, projector feed, lighting, as well as a four camera edited DVD of the FMHS "Evening with the Stars" program each year. The normal industry cost of services provided by TECC-West would be an excess of $30K per year if done by a professional outfit.
Each year the TECC-West AVP program participates in a few other community projects that vary each year. In the past we have worked with Cub Scouts, Big Brothers Big Sisters, United Way, CCA, CISNT, LEF, Lewisville Fire Clowns, City of Flower Mound, City of The Colony, City of Highland Village, City of The Colony and many others.
