Message from the Assistant Principal

  • Hello Timber Creek Family,

I am thrilled to begin serving as  Assistant Principal at Timber Creek Elementary School!  The tradition of student leadership, the close knit feel of the school community, and the emphasis on caring for all aspects of a child are some of the many qualities that set Timber Creek apart. I am honored to join the Timber Creek community.

This is my 21st year in education, and my first year in LISD.  I can already tell this is the very best school home!  I previously served as the Assistant Principal for 9 years at a 5th and 6th grade campus. Before that, I taught 3rd and 5th grade focusing on Reading and ESL. I love that I have the opportunity to continue my journey as the Assistant Principal at Timber Creek!

I believe that every child has the ability to learn at a high level no matter what it takes.  It is up to us to provide the learning opportunities and situations that will drive each and every student to engage in their best thinking daily. Know that I am here to support students, staff, and families in these endeavors.  Please reach out to me directly with any questions or concerns.

Timber Creek is a Leader in Me school which teaches leadership skills to help shape all students socially, academically, and emotionally.  We Build Leaders Today, To Change Tomorrow is our guiding  principle which drives our thinking and our actions.  Teaching students how to push through difficulty and keep growing when things aren’t easy is so important, and we are dedicated to developing these skills in students.

On a personal note, I love spending time with my family at home.  My husband, David, always keeps me entertained.  My daughter is starting her junior year this year and is always busy.  My son is about to be a sophomore at Texas State in the fall, and our oldest boy is grown and living out in California.

As a new member of the Timber Creek family, I’d like to welcome all students and families back to school for this amazing school year.  Please come by and say hello sometime so I can get to know you! I am here to help, and look forward to serving the Timber Creek Community.
