I am thrilled to be starting my 18th year in education in 4th grade at Donald Elementary. After growing up in Buffalo, NY and graduating from the University of Buffalo with a degree in business, I had the opportunity to move to the island of Molokai in Hawaii. There weren't many business opportunities on this small island so I accepted a job as a teaching assistant at Kaunakakai Elementary School. Here is where I fell in love with teaching.  

Knowing that teaching was now the career field for me, I returned to New York and completed my teaching and psychology degrees at the State University of New York at Potsdam.  After graduating I took a 5th grade teaching position in Tampa, Florida.  While there I also worked for one of my favorite places, Walt Disney World. After two years in Florida I met my husband and moved to North Carolina where he was stationed in the Air Force.  The military took us to Anchorage, Alaska where I stayed home with our two boys, Aidan and Ryland.  At the conclusion of my husband's active duty military career we moved here to Flower Mound, Texas to be near family and my husband’s current job as a pilot for Southwest Airlines.  

Not long after moving to Flower Mound, I began subbing in LISD.  When my youngest entered elementary school I returned to teaching full time in first grade at Bridlewood Elementary. After a year, and being the newest to the campus and decreasing enrollment, I was transferred to Old Settlers Elementary to teach Science Discovery for grades K-5.  I stayed in this role for 8 years and then moved to 5th grade.  The last 3 years I have served in LISD as a science facilitator supporting teachers and writing curriculum.  As grateful as I was to have the opportunity to work in the Learning and Teaching department, it was pulling on my heart strings to return to the classroom. I feel blessed to be given the opportunity to join the Donald Family and be back full time with sharing my love of science and engineering with children. 

Being from Buffalo, NY I am a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills Football Team. When the Bills are not playing, you will find me playing golf, paddleboarding and traveling to the beach or the mountains. This year my oldest son will be a junior at Texas Christian University and my youngest will be a freshman and in the band at Texas Tech. Sanford is my 7 year old Labradoodle that will be keeping me company as my husband Kevin and I become empty nesters.  Looking forward to meeting and working with you all!
