Hi! My name is Berenice Colmenero and I am really excited to be part of the Hicks family. I was born in Mexico City and raised in Mexico and in Dallas. 

This will be my 13th year teaching and my 7th at Hicks where every year has been unique. 

I went to college in Mexico City and in Kenya, where I completed a BA in International Relations. I had the fortune of working at the UN in Africa and working for Habitat for Humanity in Mexico. I graduated from the Universidad de Salamanca in the western part of Spain with a Master's in Spanish Language and Culture.

I am a “Band Mom” and a fan of the Hebron Band where my sophomore son plays. I also cheer for my daughter’s tennis matches at Arbor Creek MS.
