    Mr. Gary PattersonThe Lewisville ISD Board of Trustees appointed longtime public education leader Mr. Gary Patterson as interim superintendent on Nov. 29 following Dr. Kevin Rogers retirement announcement after 36 years in the district. Patterson is tasked with overseeing the district until a permanent superintendent is hired.

    A well-respected superintendent of Texas schools, Patterson successfully led East Central Independent School District in the San Antonio area for 14 years until his retirement in 2014. Patterson also served as superintendent at Valley Mills ISD and Taylor ISD.

    While at East Central ISD, Patterson oversaw several bond packages of the 260-square-mile school district and led the growth of dual-language education. His career in education dates back to 1976 as a teacher. 

    Since his retirement, Patterson has served as interim superintendent for various school districts across Texas including Lake Dallas ISD, Pflugerville ISD, La Vernia ISD and Falls City ISD.

    Patterson will work directly with LISD trustees over the coming months to guide the district through its search for a new superintendent and maintain the current direction of the district.
