Middle School Virtual Learning

  • 2021-22 School Year

LISD is excited to announce the launching of our Middle School Concurrent Virtual Learning program available at each middle school campus for the 2021-2022 school year.  While we know that in-person learning is the most appropriate model for the great majority of students; we know that some students are thriving in a virtual learning environment and that families may still need choices due to health and safety concerns for next school year.

Virtual program offerings are dependent on current legislation.

We are now accepting applications for students entering sixth through eighth grade in the upcoming school year. Applications will be accepted through May 24. Selected students and families will be notified of their acceptance in summer 2021.

Please note - it is our intention to begin the 2021-22 school year in a much more traditional way, what most would consider a “typical” school environment. Effective Monday, June 21, masks will be optional at LISD facilities and some other level orange restrictions that were in place this year will be removed. This plan, and the final decision which will be made just before school starts, is completely dependent on the health-related circumstances in our communities in late July and early August.

*NOTE: Grade levels served in the Middle School Concurrent Virtual Learning program are dependent on current legislation. Applying for this program is a semester commitment, you will not be able to change between this virtual program and in-person classes each nine weeks.
