Ms. Katie Delamarter

Katie Delamarter is the Library Media Specialist of Central Elementary.  She has a passion for helping students fall in love with reading and become life-long readers. She designs learning experiences that encourage the students of Central Elementary to be responsible users and producers of technology and information. She collaborates with classroom teachers and maintains a collection of diverse resources. 

Katie began her teaching career as a Kindergarten and First Grade teacher and became a librarian in 2008.  She has experience as an elementary librarian as well as a high school librarian. She earned a Masters of Library Science from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University. 

She enjoys collaborating and learning with and from librarians across the state of Texas and is actively involved in the Texas Library Association as a member of the Programming Committee for the 2020 Annual Conference and the 2021 Chair of the Texas Youth Creators Award. She was named a TALL Texan in 2019 which is a statewide leadership program for librarians. She was the LISD Librarian of the Year in 2014 and a finalist in 2017.
