Hola! My name is Anil Aldaz or Sra. Aldaz :) This will be my first year at Hicks teaching first grade, but my 4th working for LISD. I was born in El Paso, TX, and was raised in Mexico. I was blessed to grow up in a border town with two languages and cultures, which shaped who I am as a person.

I have a degree in Bilingual Education from Universidad Autonoma España de Durango.  Education has always been my passion and I've been teaching since 1998.  It has been my pleasure to work as a bilingual and Dual Language teacher in Texas since 2007. During my time as an educator, I've had the opportunity to teach PreK, Kinder, 1st, and 2nd grade. In the past 3 years, I was part of a committee that drafted and piloted the Dual Language Program at PISD. 

I have been blessed with a "MexiKenyan" daughter Gaby, who keeps me busy every day and loves coming to Hicks! We also have a dog, Jack, who walks Gaby to school and loves to say hi. 

During the summer, we love to travel, swim, and visit our family. I also play tennis and enjoy being on the court whenever there is time.

I am excited to be back in LISD and be part of Hicks! I can't wait to watch young learners grow and embrace two languages and cultures.
