Degrees and Certifications:

Ruth Pinchot, Library Media Specialist

Hi, I'm Mrs. Pinchot, and I'm excited to be at Killian Middle School!  I have been a librarian in LISD since 2015 and at Killian since 2018.  I grew up in Western Oklahoma, and moved to Texas after college graduation. Soon after arrival, I met my husband, John. Our family includes our two adult sons, Clayton and Weston, and our pocket beagle, Zoey.  I began my teaching career as a speech and debate coach at TCHS.  After four years, I changed focus and became the librarian at Coppell High School, where I also had the opportunity to continue my passion for coaching students through Academic Decathlon.  I was blessed to be able to stay home with my two boys, and later returned to education as librarian at Stewart's Creek Elementary.  I'm thrilled to be back with older students, although I do miss those Pre-K hugs. When not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends enjoying theatre, music, and all things NCIS.  I have a Bachelor of Science in Speech/Drama Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and a Master of Science in Library and Information Services from Texas Womans University. I'm also a Common Sense Certified Educator, a Level 1 Google Certified Educator, and an Apple Teacher.  I'm here to support the students and staff of Killian in any way possible.
