Lewisville ISD facilities may be closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we are seeing first hand that our schools are about so much more than where classes take place. Schools are about the people - the students, the families, the staff, the communities - that comprise them. Our buildings are closed, but the schools are carrying on with what they do every day - caring for kids, supporting families, and being there for each other.
We are all in this together, but we know every LISD family faces unique challenges that can impact students in a variety of ways - emotionally, mentally, and physically.
When we are back together in the classroom, teachers will meet students where they are academically and emotionally, and we will get everyone back on course. Teachers are pros at this, and that won’t change!
Until then, just as we are adjusting our approach to instruction and learning, we must shift our approach to grading.
