Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Amy Highley

Hello, I’m Amy Highley, and I’m excited to be back at Hicks Elementary as a Speech-Language Pathologist!  I earned my Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1997.  I then worked with adults with neurogenic speech disorders at UT Dallas/Center for Brain Health, then took a few years off to be a stay-at-home mom when my son was born in 2000.  I started with Hicks in 2007, then, transferred to Coyote Ridge in 2015, before coming back “home” to Hicks!  It truly feels like home, as my own 2 kids, Sam and Sophie, are proud former Timberwolves themselves!  Sam is now a sophomore in college at UTA, and Sophie is a senior at Hebron High School!  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Eric, our blended family of 6 kids and 3 crazy dogs, traveling (especially to my happy place, the mountains!), reading, and weight training. Working in LISD has been a rewarding adventure with some awesome students, teachers, administrators, and parents.  I’m so looking forward to a fantastic year at Hicks!
