    Proof of Residency

    Items Required:

    A current gas, water or electric bill showing name and service address. (We cannot
    accept other bills such as telephone, cable, etc.)

    If you have a newly signed lease, and bills are not yet available, we will need a copy of
    the signed lease listing the parent and student as occupants. A current gas, water or
    electric bill should be turned in within 30 days. Mortgage statements for a new home
    may also be accepted for 30 days until a utility bill is available.

    If a student AND their parent/legal guardian are both residing with another person:
    Parent/legal guardian, and the person with whom they reside, must provide a notarized
    letter stating where and with whom they live.

    A current gas, water or electric bill showing the name and service address of the person
    with whom the family resides must also be provided.

    If a student does not live in a household with the parent/legal guardian:

    The parent/legal guardian and the person with whom the student resides must go to
    LISD Community Services to establish proof of residency. The person with whom the
    student resides must present proof of residency, along with a valid photo id.

    You will be given paperwork to bring back to the school campus once approved.

    Note: Students should generally live with a parent/legal guardian if they are under 18
    years old. Approval of residency is usually not granted if the student lives with another
    person, and the parent/legal guardian lives in a neighboring school district.
