Teachers who provide instruction and services that are a part of the program for gifted students have a minimum of 30 hours of staff development which includes nature & needs of the GT student, Identification & Assessment of the GT student, and 18 hours of curriculum & instruction. Teachers receive a minimum of 6 hours of update training annually provided by the district.
Administrators and Counselors who are involved in service decisions for GT students are required to receive a minimum of six (6) hours annually of professional development to increase their understanding of the nature and needs of the GT student. District personnel should search course where listings for these professional opportunities when offerings are announced.
All High School ELA, Math and Science teachers have been trained with 30 hours of GT Professional Learning to meet the needs of GT students.
